OVER, UP, CUT!
As you probably know, a lot of things you do have diddies to them. You when you pick up the guidon, you will have to say “OVER, UP, CUT!”
This is how it’ll go:
- (OVER) Bring your left arm over and grab the guidon
- (UP) Slide up the guidon to around shoulder height
- (CUT) Once up, “cut” (knife-hands) back to you’re side just like the POS
- From here, this is when you will be ready to execute whatever command was given. (Strong-hand grip is recommended when marching)
PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE.
That’s the only way to get good at it. That thing is heavy so you’re arm WILL hurt eventually but guess what?
"Pain is weakness leaving the body."
